Abstract :
The context of the environment facing libraries and the expectations of clients and other stakeholders is analysed. Assessment then made of how a client-led, marketing and quality focused approach can support managers in framing objectives, gaining res and delivering services. Quality management is then related to library and information services through an examination of research evidence and practice n the UK and overseas. It is concluded that leadership and training are important to move libraries forward.
