Economic Crisis in Souteast Asia and Korea  | Subtitle : Its Economic, Social, Political, and Cultural Impacts
Abstract :
This collection is the product of a joint project between ASEAN and KASEAS on the "Economic Crisis in Southeast Asia and Korea" it was sponsored by the Secretariat of ASEAN and the government of the Republic of Korea. Outlined in 1998 when economic breakdown was striking countries in East Asia, the project was undertaken for two years from 1999-2000. Discussion among academics of the two regions on the similarities and differences in their experiences of the economic crisis; second,to examine the economic, social, political, and cultural implication of the economic crisis; third, to explore alternative strategies for more sound development and discuss future prospects for more effective cooperation between ASEAN and Korea.
