Abstract :
This book examines Yusof's ideas and their impact. It traces how his upbringing, leadership, of Utusan Melayu between 1939 and 1959, and battle against the communist and Malay ultras in the 1960s shaped his religious and political outlook. The monograph explores the consequences of Yusof's decision to remain in Singapore in 1965, when he had the option to return to Malaysia, and what Singapore's future generations can learn from Yusof's struggle and sacrifices.
