Abstract :
The book aims to help track AMS progress and longterm performance in instituting frameworks and tools to support sustainability in the minerals sector. It is an initial but a crucial step to take stock of efforts across the region in the design and management by AMS of efforts to improve sustainability. The RM results will contribute to the information base to support ASEAN future efforts to (i) advance the regional agenda for sustainable development in the minerals sector, (ii) share AMS experience and converge towards best practice on framing, realising, and assessing sustainability in minerals development, and (iii) help improve the image of mining as a responsible stakeholder in the larger ASEAN Economic Community.
