Abstract :
This special report was commissioned by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and it identifies significant infrastructure opportunities and risks in the short to medium term across the region. The detailed analysis includes infrastructure financing cost/activity-related trends, project construction cost benchmarking and data analysis for 8 countries in the region (in particular, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia and Turkey). The report presents a methodology for comparing road construction costs in various economies in Asia. This will be improved and expanded in the future to enhance understanding of the cost drivers for various infrastructure types.
