Abstract :
Details the ASEAN Plan of Action on Culture and Information (1994-1997). Describes background of the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (COCI) in relation to the planning approach. Deals with objectives of the plan, and major concerns and constraints in culture and information. Describes the basic framework in terms of goals, strategies and policies. Deals with the action plan for the culture sector by the Working Group on Literary and ASEAN studies, and the Working Group on Visual and Performing Arts. Covers the action plan for the information sector by the Working Group on Radio/Television and Films/Video, and the Working Group on Print and Interpersonal Media. Addresses two of the concerns of COCI, i.e. the need to promote ASEAN awareness and the need to improve COCI's program and project coordination, monitoring and implementation procedures.
