In 1995 ASEAN Member States signed the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS), mandating progressive negotiations on the liberalization of trade in services. This publication provide an overview of the benefits of services liberalization, trade in services in ASEAN, the institutional processes in ASEAN for services liberalization, the status of the negotiations on trade in services, and the initiatives taken to move forward services integration.
