The founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand), have all experienced remarkable economic growth since the organization was founded, in 1967. The function of this publication to explain any country's approach to labour relations: merely to present these approaches to other ASEAN members so that, through comparison and subsequent discussion, more effective labour relations laws may emerge.
