Abstract :
This book presents the Medium-Term Work Program to Operationalize the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Program on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control. Developed by the Joint UN Program on HIV/AIDS and the ASEAN Secretariat, the Medium-Term Work Program is a work plan comprising a review of ongoing work by international/national agencies, detailed projects in the priority areas and strategies for mobilizing funding resources, including cost-sharing among Member Countries. It aims to address the issues related to HIV/AIDS prevention and control, which are common among ASEAN Member Countries. It is intended to supplement ongoing and future AIDS prevention and care activities by the national governments and regional programs in each of these countries. Divided into eight sections, the first section in this book presents an introduction to the HIV/AIDS situation and the ASEAN initiative. The main body of the book focuses on the Medium-Term Work Program, Project Areas, Project Proposals, and Program Management.
